Is your strategy on Yahoo Answers to maximize points or maximize best-answer percentage?

Thursday, July 1st, 2010
Jerry E asked:

I usually try to make an answer that is good enough to be a best-answer, with lots of detail and useful links. If I just wanted high points, I’d make answers to as many different questions as I could, with just short, pithy answers so I would have more time to make more answers and gain more points.

Do you have a strategy? What is it?

Acquire Permanent One-Way Links

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

on the Internet is all about building quality back links. The more back links you get for your website, the higher your search engine rankings will be. The problem is, it’s not easy to get back links to your site.

In general, there are 2 ways to get back links to your site. You can either buy them, or you can get them for free by submitting your site to web directories. Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of each approach.

1) Buying links.

Many internet marketers have resorted to buying links to get back links quickly. There are several types of link buying deals you can look into. You can buy monthly links, or you can buy permanent links. Monthly deals require you to pay a monthly fee for the one way link that you place on another website. This may range from $5 to $100 upwards, depending on the page rank of the website you are advertising on. When buying links, try to buy links that are embedded in the content. Avoid buying site wide links. Google may penalize your site if you get this wrong.

Permanent links sound like a better deal because you only have to pay once. But good permanent link deals are harder to come by. To find such deals on websites with high page rank is close to impossible.

2) Web directory submission.

Now that you are familiar with permanent links and monthly links, let’s discuss web directory submissions.

Web directories are websites that are setup to organize links so that visitors can find the websites that they are looking for easily. Remember Yahoo web directory? That is probably one of the first web directories that came online. It became hugely popular, and went on to become the giant Yahoo that we know today.

When you submit your links to web directories, you are actually acquiring one way permanent back links. But you can only achieve your goal if your links are approved by the directory owners. Some web directories are free, while others are paid. Usually, you may be asked to pay a small fee if the web directory has a high page rank. Stick to free web directories if budget is a concern.

On the Internet, there are literally thousands of web directories. Many of them allow submissions for free. Some may ask for a reciprocal back link, but many do not.

To accelerate the link building process, it is advisable to outsource all your web directory submissions activities to professional link building service providers. This will free up your time so you can focus on other aspects of your Internet business.

Since the price is often rather affordable, there is little reason not to outsource. Experienced submitters will be able to complete the work for you in a matter of hours.

Many One Way Links to Help your Website

Many webmaster learn quickly that links pointing to your site very important when promoting and marketing your website business. The second reason for getting inbound links is to impress the search engines. Everyone is talking about them, what are inbound links? These are links that point from another website to your website. Some links weigh heavier than others. Those links with a higher page rank are weighed heavier. Acquiring one way inbound links is the future of link popularity. SEO is mainly building links to your site, one way links are preferable.

Including your link in the bio of an article you submitted is important when increasing inbound links. Articles will bring you traffic right from the articles, and this is a great advantage. Surfers who follow links from your articles are targeted.

One of the best ways to get one way links is to get your site listed with directories, this well help in achieving link popularity. Two of the better directories are Yahoo and the Open Directory Project. Submitting your links to free directories is one way of building one way links to your site, there are those directories that will ask for a fee to have your link included in the directory. Building one way links on link directories is not difficult but very time consuming, most webmaster higher a firm to submit the links .

Exchanging links with other sites that are banned can weaken your sites link popularity, and it might get your site banned from the search engines. When a new site is first started and the site establishes many links within a short period of time, search engines do not see this as natural.

Link building will never end, links will drop off and links will need to be re-established to keep your rankings. Inbound link building should be an organic process that shows a slowly increasing number of links pointing to a certain website. It’s important to recognize that link-building is an ongoing effort. Most webmasters know that to rank high in the search engines you need to have other websites link to your site. Slow and steady, natural link building is the name of the game.

Most web marketers will buy links than waist time doing it themselves. Now that is of less importance due to the fact that people began to exchange links with each and every website they could find. Link Popularity can make the difference between your site showing up on the first page in search results and not showing up at all.

Inbound links can generate significant traffic into your site. Inbound links are those originating from similar external websites pointing over to your site.

The way in with other sites links to your site is very important, linking with a keyword that is relevant to your site is very important. So when you have a link on another site make sure that the keyword you researched is in the link. The way other sites link to you is very important make sure the keywords are clickable. Search engines look at the words you use to describe links. One important fact to remember is when placing a one way link on another site make sure the keywords and site are relevant to your site.
