Hey! I haven’t heard of anyway to get promotion points on AKO. I know they have portals to educational opportunities. I recommend you start hitting hard and heavy on civilian education. Check out a It’s an online college, and you can do all the courses online and you can use tuition assistance for it. Classes range from 8 to 16 weeks depending on what they happen to be offering and they offer a wide range of degrees. As far as getting ready for the board…..study study study. Also, you’ll want to practice your reporting procedures. I recommend getting with soldiers that have recently attended the board and get some insight on how to do well. Each board is different depending on the members. Ensure you uniform is perfect. They knock off alot of points for little things. They will ask you to give them an informal brief about yourself. Practice this in the mirror many times to ensure you’re not rolling your eyes as you think about what to say. Keep eye contact with whomever is asking the questions and always address them by their proper rank….1SG, CSM, etc. Hope this helps.
